Governance
Tangmere Primary is an academy as part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT).
TKAT is a multi-academy trust which was established on 1st September 2010. Its constitution is set out in the Articles of Association and this is shared with individual academies via the Scheme of Delegation. TKAT have, through the Scheme of Delegation, established Local Governing Bodies for each of the Academies.
The Local Governing Body of each of the Academies is responsible for fulfilling the strategic and operational governance role in the conduct of the Academy.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Governing Body at Tangmere Primary Academy aim to support the Head Teacher and the school’s leaders in our joint mission of ensuring that every child can realise their full potential. This will be achieved with the help and co-operation of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) and the governing body will within this wider context.
We will help to set the school’s vision and ethos. Together these will be used to determine the aims and objectives for the school now and in the future which will deliver consistent and improving standards of teaching and learning.
Our decisions and actions will always be in the best interests of the school and its pupils and we will always be prepared to explain our decisions openly and honestly to parents, staff, pupils and the wider community. We will strive to set the school at the centre of the community and reflect its changing, dynamic and diverse nature.
We will achieve this through both regular contact and dialogue with the school and parents, and by working closely with the school’s management team. We shall seek to ensure that the policies, priorities and performance targets are challenging and seek evidence to ensure that they are being achieved.
The governing will be both supportive and offer constructive help to the Head and the SLT and act as a ‘critical friend’ to help ensure they can fulfil their roles to best of their abilities and help the school’s pupils be happy, safe and leave the school ready to face the challenges ahead of them.
