Safeguarding
Safeguarding is not just something that we do at TPA, but it is a culture that enables all children and adults to feel safe and happy.
“We are safe here and we feel safe here!” (a child’s response during the school’s safeguarding audit, May 2023)
Child Protection
All TPA staff receive mandatory annual safeguarding training at the beginning of the academic year. Further training takes place as required through the year and the staff receive weekly safeguarding updates and reminders.
Please see our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy 2023 -24 at the bottom of the page.
TPA’s Designated Safeguarding Leads, (DSLs), are Paul Turney, Headteacher, Kirsty Luff, Deputy Headteacher, Bev Iles, Assistant Headteacher and Matt Grace, KS1 and LKS2 phase leader.
DSLs are trained for their roles and there is a statutory requirement that this training is updated every two years.
Our link governor for safeguarding and child protection is Paul Rowlands, Chair of Governors.
Safer Recruitment
Our recruitment processes are robust and in line with the guidelines set in Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2022, (KCSiE Sept 23).
All of our selection panels include at least one member that has successfully completed their Safer Recruitment Training.
