PTA and Fundraising

PTA

The PTA is a registered charity made up of a group of supportive Mums, Dad, Carers, Grandparents, who work together, alongside the teaching staff, to hold events and raise money to benefit the children of Tangmere Primary Academy. 

We are always looking for new ideas to raise money to support the school.  More recently we have arranged a number of events including:

Cake sales Raffles Sausage Sizzles
Community Quiz Night Family Photo- Shoots Secret Santa 

This has enabled us to provide a number of items for the children, such as;

Book bags for when the children start school in Nursery or Reception Class. Commemorative hoodies the year 6 children. Chocolate Eggs for the annual TPA Easter Egg Rolling Competition. Donations towards core texts and Atlases.
Donations towards the library stock. Donations towards the forest school, including the Willow Dome Project. Donations towards new Interactive Smartboards for each classroom. Donations to each class teacher at the start of every school year for additional supplies.
Author Visits Buddy Bench and Playground Equipment Maths training for staff Additional phonics resources

There are a variety of ways you can get involved; we know everybody has busy lives so are mindful not to take up too much of your time.

Ways in which you could help:

Helping to sell cakes at the cake sales Asking and collecting raffle prizes from local companies  Writing and submitting funding bids for different school projects  Taking part in a working party to improve the school grounds 
Manning a stall at the different events/ fairs.  Selling raffle tickets  Sharing the adverts for events  on your social media accounts.  Giving us different ideas to raise money

Our PTA depends on a continual cycle of parent involvement, without your support, we have no PTA. We currently have about 10 members in our group, most of our members work full time and part time alongside volunteering and would really welcome support from any other parents, even if only on an event by event basis.

We have between 3-6 meetings a year.  We hold them in person and virtually to try to accommodate everyone's working patterns. We would love to see some new faces and hear lots of fresh ideas for our group.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
