School Day

At the beginning of the day, the gates to the site and doors into the school open at 8.35am. 

At 8.45am: 

  • the gates and the doors into children’s cloakrooms are locked 

  • any children arriving after this time must enter through the school office

Registration for all children is at 8.50am. 

  • any children arriving after 8.50am will be marked as late and will need to be signed in by an adult

  • any children arriving after 9.05am, when the morning registers close, will be marked as unauthorised absence for the morning session 

We encourage all children in KS1 and KS2 to walk onto the school site on their own and there are always members of SLT inside the gate for you to pass on any messages. 

Class teachers are not available to parents/carers at this time. 

Children have a morning break of fifteen minutes.

Lunchtime is between 12.00pm and 1.00pm - year group dependent. 

School finishes at 3.15pm and children should be collected promptly at this time. 

The total amount of time that children are at Tangmere Primary Academy each week is 32.5 hours.

Beginning of the School Day - entrance points

EYFS

Enter through the large front gates and pass through the next set of gates onto the KS1 playground. Staff will be there to greet the children and see them into the building from 8.35am. Parents/carers and children should not enter the school site until the main gates are pedestrianised at 8.30am.

Parents/carers and children in KS1 and KS2 should not enter the school grounds until the bell goes at 8.35am.
Year 1 (Fury)
Year 2 (Hunter)		 Children will come onto site from 8.35am on their own and go in through the KS1 cloakroom door.
Year 3 (Meteory)
Year 4 (Spitfire)		 Children will come onto site from 8.35am and will go through the green gates onto the playground and around to their classrooms.
Year 5 (Hurricane)
Year 6 (Lysander)		 Children will come onto site from 8.35am and will go through the green gates onto the playground and around to their classrooms.

End of the School Day - entrance points

EYFS Parents/carers will come through the small pedestrian green gate and through onto the KS1 playground. The children will be brought out to you at 3.15pm.
Year 1 (Fury) Parents/carers can come onto the school grounds and wait on the path next to the classrooms from 3.10pm. The children will be sent out from 3.15pm.
Year 2 (Hunter) Parents/carers can wait outside the school gates and the children will be brought around to you from 3.15pm.
Year 3 (Meteory)
Year 4 (Spitfire)		 Parents/carers can wait outside the school gates and the children will be brought around to you at 3.15pm or as soon as a majority of the year 1 and 2 children have left the school grounds.
Year 5 (Hurricane)
Year 6 (Lysander)		 Parents/carers can wait outside the school gates and the children will be brought around to you at 3.15pm or as soon as a majority of the year 3 and 4 children have left the school grounds.  (Children in years 5 and 6 can walk home on their own if we have permission from parents/carers)
