World Book Day 2020

As a school we will be celebrated World Book Day during the week beginning 2nd March 2020, through a number of activities throughout the week.  . 

FS2 class

Key Stage 2 children enjoyed a visit from Philip Beicken, an author from West Sussex, to help us celebrate on World Book Day on 5th March. Phillip introduced the children to his book The Ghosteleers, and worked with the children to create their own class story.

Family Bedtime Story Event

To celebrate World Book Day with our School Community this year, we invited our families back to school in their PJs to share stories together over chocolate milk and cookies.  We all enjoyed sharing a range of books and story sacks.

Battle of the Books Competition 

Each class enjoyed exploring and discussing a range of books with their classmates.  Together they carried out a Battle of the Books to find out which book is their class favourite and which book they would like to have as their next class reader. The winners will be announced soon.


TPA Vegetable Book Character Competitiong

The children enjoyed designing and making their own book characters by decorating different vegetables on WBD.  The winning vegetable from each class won a book for their creating efforts. What a wonderful collection of characters the children created!


Sharing Stories at Sage Houset Sage House 

The clients at Sage House helped us to celebrate World Book Day 2020.  Our Reception Class visited to perform their version of Billy Goats Gruff and Year 1 read to many of teh clients their favourite books.
